This is something that I decided to make for the girls....I had made plans to go out for dinner with some great friends for my birthday. They were leaving their 2 girls here to play with my 2 girls and we managed to convince one poor soul to take care of all 4 of them...and the dog, and a new puppy. I don't think that we paid her enough....I thought that it would be good to include a little bit of sugar for one Miss Amy...I knew she would need it!
No Roll Sugar Cookies
*1 cup sugar
*1 cup powdered sugar
*1 cup butter or margarine softened (I use butter)
*1 cup vegetable oil
*2 teaspoons vanilla
*3 1/2 cups flour
*3/4 cup corn starch
*1 teaspoon baking soda
*1 teaspoon cream of tarter
*1/2 teaspoon salt
* White sugar for rolling (I used colored decorating sugar)
Beat sugars, butter, oil and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in remaining ingredients except the sugar for rolling. Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours or until firm.
Heat oven to 375. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until set but not brown. Remove immediately to wire rack.
